Alex Kingston is a Steadicam and camera operator based in London, born and raised in Paris, France. He began his journey in the industry as a runner before choosing to join the camera department. Alex has been working full-time as an operator for the past two years, utilising both digital and 35mm workflows on set for short and long-form narratives, virtual productions, commercials, and music videos.
He has completed training with Optical Support and the Tiffen Gold Course, gaining expertise in operating on rickshaws, cranes, and vehicles. Alex enjoys exploring different ways to move the camera and experimenting with new equipment to offer cutting-edge options to productions. He values the collaboration between the talent, grip, and focus puller to achieve the director and DoP’s vision.
To easily spot Alex on set, look for his signature red bandana. In addition to his home in London, he has access to bases in France, Malta, and Germany, and is able to work across the UK and Europe. A fan of road trips, Alex loves traveling to new places, discovering different local cultures, and meeting new people.
Outside of work, Alex is passionate about rock and blues music, dogs, documentary and portrait photography, and is a loyal supporter of the XV de France. Allez les Bleus!
