Orchard Crew Celebrates Two Years of Growth, Community, and Camera Mastery 

We're proud to mark the second anniversary of our Diary Service, celebrating a milestone year that saw the collective evolve from its DIT and video roots into a full-fledged camera department powerhouse.

Expanding the Family

This past year signaled a major shift for Orchard Crew. While our foundations remain firmly planted in DIT and Video, we have officially opened our doors to a wider camera family. By bridging the gap between seasoned industry veterans and emerging talent, we’ve created a unique ecosystem where experience meets innovation.

The standout achievement of 2025 was the launch of our first Camera Trainee Scheme (Access: 2025). This wasn’t just about adding names to a roster; it was about fostering a culture of mentorship. Our senior crew members have stepped up as mentors, ensuring that technical knowledge and on-set wisdom are passed down to the next generation of cinematographers and assistants.

A Year of Highlights: From Pinewood to Poland

The last 12 months have been a whirlwind of high-end production and community building. Some of our favorite moments included:

Creative Collaborations: Shooting winter promos with Ultrabloom and capturing the magic of our Scan Department & Kodak Lab on 16mm and 35mm film at Pinewood Studios. Check it out here!

Industry Presence: Reconnecting with peers at the BSC Expo and making our debut at Camerimage in Poland (where we learned that Polish hospitality and late-night networking are a marathon, not a sprint).

Team Spirit: Beyond the technical work, we’ve focused on building a true community. Whether it’s our legendary Fish Finger Fridays, the annual DO x OC Christmas party, or getting competitive during summer BBQs and rounders, these moments define our culture.

Looking Ahead: Resilience in a Changing Industry

It is no secret that the production landscape has faced its fair share of shifts over the last year. However, the strength of the Orchard Crew lies in our collective resilience.

The industry may have looked a little different this past year, but we’re staying grounded, building strong, and thriving as one big, supportive family.

As we move into Year Three, our focus remains on providing world-class technical support while nurturing the human connections that make this industry great.
