John is a highly skilled professional with over two decades of experience in the film, TV, and commercial production industry. A member of the Guild of British Camera Technicians, John began his career as a spark and gaffer in shorts and low budget productions before transitioning into camera and eventually specialising as a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT). His unique academic background in physics, film, and comparative literature gives him a rare blend of technical expertise and creative insight John has worked across a wide range of productions, from multi-camera events to intimate single-camera narratives, including commercials, feature films, documentaries, and live broadcasts. His adaptability and deep understanding of workflows make him a trusted collaborator on sets of all sizes and complexities
Equipped with his own state-of-the-art equipment and his fully outfitted van, he provides on-set and near-set support, data management, and dailies, ensuring seamless workflows and high-quality results. Passionate about sharing his knowledge, John enjoys mentoring the next generation of professionals, helping them navigate the evolving landscape of digital production. When not on set, he can be found cooking for his young family, restoring bikes, swimming and lifting heavy chunks of metal above his head
